Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is Uganda’s smallest national park at just 33.7 sq km, located in Kisoro District on the border with Rwanda and DRC. By road: Kampala → Mbarara 4hrs → Kabale 3hrs → Kisoro 2hrs = 9-10hrs total. Last 90km Kabale-Kisoro is winding mountain road “Switzerland of Africa”.
By air: Charter flight Entebbe → Kisoro Airstrip 2hrs $280pp. Then 20min drive to park. Best for time-short clients.

Dry seasons: June-September + December-February
Best for trekking + hiking. Less mud on volcanoes. Peak season = book permits 6 months ahead.
Wet seasons: March-May + October-November: Slippery but lush. Golden monkeys easier to find in bamboo. 20% cheaper lodges.
